I am an IRONMAN. Words can not describe the feeling. Lifetime goal finally ticked off the list. Overwhelmed by support, exhausted body but energized mind. Reliving the moment doesn't do it justice. I can finally say I lived it, I raced it, I conquered it. 3.8km swim, 180km bike, 42.2km run in 11 hrs 04mins. Congratulations to the brilliant 8 tennis players who represented Leopold at the district championships today. You all did an amazing job. A special mention to Olivia who won the championships and to Matt who was runner up. They will both represent our school at the All Geelong championships. Our grade 5s today played on the school 12 hole golf course in superb conditions. Whilst the course tested some others breezed through with ease. A energised PE teacher also may now hold the course record of a 2 under par!!! Our grade 2 students this week are using downball to further develop their forehand strike skill. They are experienting with high bounce rubber balls and slow bounce hot shots tennis balls. They have also been using 4,6 and 8 square courts experienting with various names for each position. One thing for sure though is that there plenty of fun being had A fun day was had by all at the t20 blast cricket championships in Geelong. Leopold was represented by 4 teams and played 8 over games in a round robin format. One of our girls teams were lucky to make it through to the grand final and after a solid bowling performance proved too good with the bat going on to win by 60 runs. Congrats to all team members. Today 6 boys from Leopold ps attended the school surfing championships at Torquay. Conditions were bumpy yet enjoyable. What a day to spend at a sports excursion. Congratulations to the 11 girls and 12 boys who attended the Geelong rugby gala day today. There were some tough competitors from all teams and our teams rose to the challenge. After 4 games each the girls team placed 2nd in the pool qualifying themselves for the grand final. The boys finished equal first in their pool allowing them to reach the semi finals. The girls played admirably in the GF going down to the grange school 1 try to zero. The boys team faced the toughest competition of the day and where beaten 8 tries to 1 in the final. Well done all players and thanks Tom for coming and coaching with us. |
